Preaching in a fractured world requires more than clarity—it requires wisdom. In this conversation, pastor and author Zack Eswine, draws on his years at Riverside Church and teaching at Covenant Seminary to explore how preachers can move beyond “what is true and what to do” into a richer range of moods—questions, imaginings, longings, and hopes—that mirror the wisdom and gentleness of Jesus.
Zack Eswine serves as Lead Pastor at Riverside Church in St. Louis, Missouri. He is the co-founder (with his wife, Jessica) of Sage Christianity, an initiative committed to bringing questions, doubts and real-world struggles into hospitable conversation with the wisdom of Jesus. He has authored numerous books, including The Imperfect Pastor, Preaching to a Post-Everything World, Recovering Eden, Wiser with Jesus and Sensing Jesus.
