Jim Wert has served as a ruling elder at Intown Community Church in Atlanta since 1992, where he has been active in a wide range of church leadership, committee, and ministry initiatives. He has also served the Presbyterian Church in America at the presbytery and denominational levels for many years, including as past moderator of both the PCA General Assembly and Metro Atlanta Presbytery.

Jim currently serves on the Metro Atlanta Presbytery Credentials Committee, where he has served since 2000 and is acting chair. He has also served on the presbytery’s MNA Committee since 2015 and as chair of the presbytery’s Overtures Committee since its formation in 2023. At the General Assembly level, he served on the PCA Administrative Committee from 2019 to 2022, on the Board of RBI/Geneva Benefits from 2014 to 2022, including four years as chair, and currently serves on the Theological Examining Committee. He has also served for many years on the General Assembly Overtures Committee, including as chair in 2014.

Professionally, Jim is the managing director of Wert and Associates, a consultancy focused on strategic clarity, organizational health, leadership development, and governance. He previously served with McKinsey & Company, Triaxia Partners, and in senior corporate leadership roles, including as chief financial officer for one of the divisions of National Service Industries. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar.

Jim and his wife have been married for 46 years, have four adult children, and have lived in Atlanta since 1980, making them practically natives.
