Dick Keyes, author and former L’Abri worker, reminds us that Christ reigns over every aspect of life—not only the so-called spiritual realm, as opposed to the secular realm. In this lecture, Keyes raises the question of whether it is more spiritual to pray or to wash the dishes. Does life divide neatly into the “secular” and the “spiritual”? Are Christians called to forsake the former in pursuit of the latter? How might we come to understand the comprehensive reign of Christ in such a way that “whatever we do” we might do it as unto the Lord?
