Dear Friends of the Alliance,
Thank you for standing with the Alliance for Mission and Renewal (AMR). Through your prayers, generosity, and shared conviction, you have partnered to champion a vision of the Presbyterian Church in America—rooted in grace, confident in Scripture, and engaged in God’s mission to the world.
As this year draws to a close, we find ourselves at a moment that tests the very soul of our denomination. The pressures on the Presbyterian Church in America are not merely cultural—they are spiritual. From without, we face the growing confusion and anxiety of our age; from within, the subtle pull of fear, pride, and sectarianism—forces that can twist even good convictions toward unbiblical ends.
These are not new challenges. The church has always been tempted to mirror the spirit of the age rather than embody the Spirit of Christ. Yet the gospel calls us to another way—a way marked by humility, courage, and hope. That is the vision of the Alliance for Mission and Renewal: to call the PCA back to the heart of the gospel, to stand firm on biblical truth, and to pursue unity that is not shallow consensus but the fruit of shared dependence on grace.
We believe this is a decisive moment for our denomination.
- We must reject the unbiblical forces—external or internal—that tempt us to trade love for control, charity for suspicion, or mission for maintenance.
- We must stand against the cynicism and tribalism that fracture Christ’s body, cultivating instead trust, truth, and tenderness among His people.
- We must recover the joy of gospel renewal, believing that reform is not achieved through louder voices or sharper polemics, but through repentance, prayer, and the renewing power of the Holy Spirit.
This year, the AMR has sought to create spaces where pastors and leaders can rest, listen, think, and pray; where truth is spoken in love; and where the deep resources of our Reformed faith can be brought to bear on the challenges of this moment.
But the need is growing, not shrinking.
As we look ahead, we ask for your partnership to raise $20,000 to enable our growth. That is less than $15 per subscriber to our Substack. Your prayers and year-end gifts sustain a vital work—helping the PCA rediscover what it means to be faithful to Scripture, true to the Reformed faith, and obedient to the Great Commission.
In a world—and at times, a church—marked by confusion and division, we need voices that call us back to Christ alone.
Thank you for standing with us in this work of mission and renewal. May the Lord continue to purify His church, strengthen our unity, and renew our mission in the year ahead.
With gratitude and hope,
The Alliance for Mission and Renewal Team
