The Executive Board of the Alliance for Mission & Renewal joyfully announces that Dr. Sean Michael Lucas joins our team. Sean is eminently qualified through his work as a pastor and as a scholar of church history (Ph.D from Westminster Theological Seminary in Historical and Theological Studies).

In the epilogue of his book, For A Continuing Church, he writes: “It seems incontrovertible that the majority of the PCA founders desired to form a conservative mainline Presbyterian church.” Throughout his book he maps out the meaning of “conservative” meaning theologically holding to the truth of Scripture while “mainline” equals casting a wide net in the word & work of the Church. This serves as a wonderful summary of our work at AMR and exactly what we are pursuing together. 

We’re thankful for Sean’s gifts, his healthy framework that labors to balance loving his wife, Sara and their four kids, ministering to a local congregation, while then laboring in Presbytery as well as denomination-wide!
